There is a particular moment at the coast when the sun is low, and the mist hasn't lifted - when the light turns copper, and the water goes still, and the horizon becomes something you feel more than see.  That moment doesn't last.  But it stays with you.  Brume is that moment, held.

The upper field builds itself in layers of copper spray - warm, atmospheric, cloud-formed -  the exact quality of late afternoon coastal light filtering through se mist.  It doesn't sit flat.  It shifts and accumulates the way weather does, the way memory of a place does, luminous in some areas and soft in others.  Below it, a deep expresso ground holds the stillness of water at dusk - dark, calm, not yet night. 

Between them, a single unbroken line.  The horizon.  The place where the copper sky meets the quiet sea, and neither one wins.  Just the meeting.  Just the light on the mist and the mist on the water and the particular peace of standing at the edje of something vast and feeling, for once, completely still.

Brume doesn't recreate the coast.  It recreates the feeling of being there.
